Hello Polish Lovers
More OPI! I was so curious about the name "Mrs. O'Leary's BBQ". I looked it up on wikipedia. Catherine O'Leary owned a barn in Chicago in the 1870s. It is alleged that a lantern fell over or was knocked over by some cows that started a fire. This fire spread to most of the city and became known as the Great Chicago Fire. Interesting name.I'm in love with this one. It reminds me of Black Cherry Chutney without the shimmer. It has a real tendency in the photos to look like a burgundy plum. I like to describe them without that light, because I think most often we are indoors and out of direct light. That's why I say it's like Black Cherry Chutney. In reality, these colors are a vampy red burgundy. But it's a deep deep burgundy and in the shade it is so vampy and gorgeous. I believe the color is so alive either in light or in dark, I love vampies!
I chose this next photo to show how on one side it is so vampy (where the light doesn't hit) and the other it is a burgundy when there is light - lots of light.

Very pretty color!
Ha! I was wondering about the name, too, but you cleared up the mystery for me! I really like that color...so rich and it would look good for fall!
It is a fabulous OPI color. I love a richly pigmented creme. It looks gorgeous on you too.
Jessica - Thanks, it's an instant fave.
Aurora's Nails - It is rich and fall-like, but I wear these colors year long, I can't help it, I love them.
Lacquer Ware for Tips and Toes - It is a very richly pigmented creme, but you know how some of the slightly thinner almost jelly ones will leave bald spots near the cuticle. That's what this one did a little. I had to do 3 coats. Thanks
Mrs. O'Leary's BBQ; I am loving the name and the story is amazing. It started the Great Chicago Fire? So every time anyone wear this gorgeous black cherry deep deep burgundy, (I love burgundy's) it's history in the making.
Wow! IO have heard rumors about how OPI has a full day with their staff, including VP Susie's Beauty Blog on OPI, They pick out all the woman (and men?) ones who make new names for the new line of color polishes and give them wild and crazy names for the newest colors and brainstorm if the names really match the new colors.
This one is one I gotta have! Nameste.
